ABOUT Hogs
Founded in 2003, the Gainesville Rugby Club has proudly represented North Florida on the pitch for over two decades. Known as the “Hogs”—a nod to Gainesville’s original name, Hoggetowne—the club has competed across Divisions 2, 3, and 4 with a reputation for grit and tradition.
The Hogs’ resume includes multiple deep runs on the national stage, reaching the USA Rugby National “Sweet 16” in 2007, 2012, 2014, 2015, and 2017. Domestically, the club has been a dominant force in the Florida Rugby Union, capturing nine State Championships (2007, 2011–2015, 2017, 2022, 2023) and earning Florida Cup titles in 2005 and 2012.
With a history built on hard-fought victories and a strong rugby culture, the Gainesville Hogs continue to uphold their legacy as one of Florida’s most successful clubs.
